Published on: July 16, 2026

BAMBANG, NUEVA VIZCAYA Demonstrating a strong commitment to professional growth and institutional excellence, library personnel of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) actively participated in a series of staff development programs, seminars, workshops, and national engagements throughout 2025.

Earlier in the year, on June 19–20, 2025, Dolores R. Cayaban attended an in-service training titled “Navigating the New Landscape: RA No. 12009 or the New Government Procurement Act,” held at the NVSU Library. The training enhanced her knowledge of updated procurement policies and procedures. This was complemented by her participation in the Financial and Procurement Planning for CY 2026: PRE and PPMP Workshop conducted on August 5–6, 2025, also at the Bayombong campus.

As part of institutional preparation efforts, Mrs. Cayaban, together with Mrs. Padyong, participated in the mobilization meeting and writeshop on Institutional Accreditation held on July 29–30, 2025, at the NVSU Library in Bayombong. This was followed by the Institutional Accreditation orientation on August 7–8, 2025, conducted at Wilwin Hotel, where participants gained deeper insights into accreditation standards and processes.

To further enhance institutional readiness, Mrs. Cayaban joined an online benchmarking activity on Institutional Accreditation with Central Mindanao University on August 26, 2025. Meanwhile, Edna T. Valmores attended the seminar organized by the Department of Science and Technology – Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) titled “Knowledge Equity: Building Inclusive Digital Libraries” on August 12, 2025, via Zoom.

In addition, Mrs. Valmores participated in the hybrid seminar organized by the University of the Philippines Diliman titled “Keeping Up with the Standards: Understanding the Application of the NCBS FLISP” on August 29, 2025, which focused on the National Competency-Based Standards for Filipino Library and Information Science Professionals.

Mrs. Valmores also took part in the PLAI Congress 2025 and General Assembly, held in Bacolod City from November 23–26, 2025. The event, themed B.R.I.D.G.E.S. (Borderless, Research-Based, Innovative, Developmental, Global, Equitable, Sustainable), provided opportunities for professional exchange and collaboration among library and information science practitioners.

Moreover, Mrs. Cayaban, as a member of the Executive Committee (Execon), actively engaged with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts – National Committee on Libraries and Information Services (NCCA-NCLIS). She attended the 3rd regular meeting on September 16, 2025, and the 4th regular out-of-town meeting and outreach activity in Bacolod City from November 24–27, 2025. She also contributed to the Technical Working

Group for the Photovoice Project, evaluating entries from various university libraries nationwide on November 30, 2025, via an online platform.

Additionally, Mrs. Cayaban joined the Webinar-Workshop on Access and Special Services for Librarians held on October 17, 2025, via Zoom, further strengthening her competencies in inclusive and user-centered library services.

Through these extensive engagements, NVSU Library personnel continue to enhance their professional capabilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative, and responsive services to the academic community.
