Library Engagement in Outreach and Educational Activities in 2025
Published on: July 16, 2026
The University Library continued to broaden its
impact beyond its traditional academic role in 2025 by actively engaging
in community extension
and outreach initiatives that promoted literacy,
inclusivity, and social responsibility.
Demonstrating its commitment to community service,
the Head Librarian participated in the family outing
and monthly subsidy
distribution of the Bambang Sunshine Project Organization, Inc. on
June 12, 2025, held at Ladores Farm and Resort in Iniangan, Dupax Del Norte.
The event, which supports children with physical and mental challenges, serves
as an avenue for community bonding and support. The librarian’s involvement
highlights the library’s dedication to extending compassion and assistance to
vulnerable sectors, reinforcing its role as an active partner in community
development.
Further strengthening this commitment, the Head
Librarian also serves as an officer of the Bambang Sunshine Project
Organization, Inc., a charitable organization that supports children with special needs. This leadership role reflects the library’s deep-rooted advocacy for inclusivity, compassion, and social responsibility,
extending its influence beyond academic support into impactful civic
engagement.
In line with its ongoing
outreach efforts, a gift-giving activity
was conducted for BSPO
recipients on December 13, 2025. This initiative brought joy and support to the beneficiaries, especially during the
holiday season, and underscored the organization’s dedication to uplifting the
lives of children and families in need.
Additionally, the Head Librarian actively
participated in the National Commission for Culture and the Arts–National Committee on Libraries and
Information Services (NCCA-NCLIS) outreach activity held on November 26, 2025,
at the Villamonte Reading Center in Barangay
Villamonte, Bacolod City.
The event provided
a valuable opportunity to collaborate with national
cultural institutions and support community-based reading programs, further promoting access to knowledge and
the development of reading culture at the grassroots level.
Through these meaningful engagements, the University Library reaffirms its mission as a dynamic center for learning while continuously contributing to community development, cultural enrichment, and social inclusivity. Its sustained outreach efforts reflect a strong commitment to building connections, fostering compassion, and making a positive difference beyond the academic sphere.
